Ok ladies after talking to Kathy and the frustrations we are having choosing books I asked my friend Marie for advice...she is a Tacoma teacher and just got her librarian certification...she loves books and has been in a book club for a few years. She told me her group has read 60 books and these are the groups top picks.
So google, research or just pick based on title but at our next meeting be prepared to vote for two books...we will allow you to do this by secret ballot and then we will tally all the votes and see which book gets the most votes---that will be our next book
PS...if you have a title you want to be considered just let us know and we will throw it into the mix.
Goodnight Nobody by Weiner
Beautiful Lies by Unger
Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James
Memory of Water by White
Art of Racing in the Rain by Stein
A Rather Lovely Inheritance by Belmond
Women of the Silk by Tsukiyama (there is also a sequel)
Firefly Lane by Hannah
Every Last Cuckoo by Malloy
Wildwater Walking Club by Cook
Forgotten Garden by Morton
Have an awesome weekend!!

Scrappy Readers September Book Club
This month we are reading a book recommended from one of our favorite websites, TwoPeasInABucket. The book is titled "WHAT ALICE FORGOT" by Liane Moriarty. I am about 2/3 way through the book and I am having a hard time picking it up to continue. I know Alice has amnesia and I am ready for the book to move on. Alice gets amnesia at the very beginning of the book so 2/3 into it that is about it. A few interesting facts pop up here and there. It is interesting to read about the dynamics of the family relationships and how they must have changed in the past 10 years but I think that could be covered in one or two chapters. Oh well, I will stay open and hope that the remaining chapters will be more interesting. Your thoughts?
Kathy
